Gear & Stats
Shadow Priest PvP gearing is survival-first. You are frequently the kill target, and every extra global you stay alive translates into more DoT ticks, more dispels, and more opportunities to swing the match with utility. Prioritize Resilience and Stamina, then build enough Spell Damage to remain a threat when not being trained.

Stat Priority
Resilience → Stamina → Spell Damage → Intellect → Spell Hit Resilience is mandatory, Stamina keeps you alive through swaps, Spell Damage converts uptime into pressure, and Intellect supports longer games. Spell Hit is helpful but not required early.
Stat Breakdown
Resilience — Mandatory
Your primary defensive stat. Reduces the impact of critical strikes and overall incoming pressure, making you harder to kill during coordinated burst windows. In early gearing, this is the single biggest swing in survivability.
Stamina — You Are a Pressure Tank
Shadow Priest has no true defensive cooldowns and is often trained. Stamina increases the size of your effective health pool, giving you room to survive stuns, swaps, and short CC chains long enough to get peels or reset positioning.
Spell Damage — Sustained Pressure
Shadow does not win through one-shot burst; it wins through relentless uptime. Spell Damage increases every DoT tick and direct spell, turning surviving longer into real kill pressure and forcing defensive cooldowns.
Intellect — Mana Longevity
Intellect increases your mana pool and helps you remain functional in longer games where you are forced to dispel, heal out of Shadowform, or Mana Burn. It is especially important when you cannot reliably drink.
Spell Hit — Nice, Not Required Early
Hit helps consistency, but you do not need to stack for PvE-style caps. Early PvP gearing typically prioritizes survivability and damage over perfect hit optimization.
