Aldor vs Scryer
When you first reach Shattrath City at level 60 or higher, you are given a choice between two factions: The Aldor and the Scryers. This decision affects which rewards you can purchase, which quest lines you can pursue, and which faction strongholds you can access in Shadowmoon Valley. While it is possible to switch later, it is best to avoid making a haphazard choice. For Balance Druids in PvP, the difference between Aldor and Scryer is extremely small. PvE-oriented faction items do not meaningfully impact PvP performance, leaving shoulder enchants as the only long-term consideration.

PvE faction gear does not matter
Trinkets and gear from Aldor or Scryer are designed for PvE and do not meaningfully affect Balance PvP.
Enchant difference is tiny
The shoulder enchant difference is extremely small and will not decide PvP outcomes.
Consistency over crit
Balance PvP generally favors steady pressure and control rather than random critical strikes.
Execution matters most
Positioning, crowd control, and cooldown usage have a far greater impact than faction choice.

We recommend choosing Aldor as a Balance Druid for PvP in TBC Classic. - Greater Inscription of Discipline provides slightly more consistent value than Greater Inscription of the Orb. - Spell Power is generally more reliable than Critical Strike in PvP. The difference is extremely small, and Balance Druids will perform equally well regardless of faction choice.
