Balance Druid (PVP)
Caster DPS specializing in spell burst, control, and ranged pressure.
Talents
Balance PvP talenting is almost always a hybrid approach rather than pure Moonkin. The most common and most effective setup is the Restokin build, which combines deep Balance pressure (Moonfire, Insect Swarm, Starfire/Wrath, Moonkin Form) with Restoration’s defining PvP cooldown: Nature’s Swiftness. This gives you the best of both worlds: you can play offensively in Moonkin Form to apply rot pressure and force cooldowns, while still having the ability to instantly swing momentum with a Nature’s Swiftness + Healing Touch emergency heal. In practice, Balance PvP is about controlling the fight with Cyclone and Roots while contributing damage when safe — Restokin supports that gameplan perfectly.
Talent Priorities Explained
Nature’s Swiftness Is the Build’s Defining Tool
Restokin is built around Nature’s Swiftness. It gives you a life-saving instant cast that can swing matches instantly — most often paired with Healing Touch to prevent deaths during stun or burst windows.
Moonkin Form Enables Offensive Play
Moonkin Form gives you a strong offensive stance with extra armor and caster pressure. You are not a pure DPS turret — you apply rot pressure, force dispels, and leverage crowd control to create kill windows.
Hybrid Control > Raw Damage
The purpose of this spec is not maximum Starfire damage. It is about rotating Cyclone, Roots, and off-heals while maintaining DoTs and pressure. Your win condition is control + attrition, not burst.
Balance PvP (Restokin) — Standard Arena Hybrid
This is the classic Restokin build: deep enough into Balance to pick up Moonkin Form for armor and damage pressure, while going into Restoration far enough to secure Nature’s Swiftness. Nature’s Swiftness is the key PvP reason this build works — it gives you a guaranteed instant Nature cast. Most commonly this is used as Nature’s Swiftness + Healing Touch to prevent deaths, but it can also be used for instant Cyclone or Roots in some clutch moments. You can modify this build depending on preference: • If you want an interrupt/mobility tool, you can drop Nature’s Swiftness and reduce Restoration investment to reach Feral Charge. • If you want more consistent offensive pressure, you can pull points out of Restoration and push slightly deeper into Balance. In general: keep the core identity intact — Moonkin pressure + Cyclone control + emergency save button.
Flexible Talent Choices
There is flexibility depending on your team and playstyle. If you value interrupts and mobility, you can reduce Restoration points (often dropping Nature’s Swiftness) and invest into Feral for Feral Charge. If you want to play more offensively, you can reduce Restoration depth and commit deeper into Balance for added damage and utility. In most competitive scenarios, however, Nature’s Swiftness is the reason to be Restokin — removing it changes the entire identity of the build.
