Talents

Holy Paladins follow one largely universal talent build in The Burning Crusade, as the majority of talents in the Holy tree are mandatory for healing throughput, mana efficiency, and raid utility. Most raid compositions run three Paladins—one of each specialization—which makes it optimal for Holy Paladins to invest heavily into Improved Blessings to maximize overall raid value. While the core of the build is fixed, a small number of talent points can be flexed depending on encounter needs or personal preference.

Build Overview

This is the standard PvE Holy Paladin build used throughout all phases of The Burning Crusade. It provides maximum healing efficiency and throughput while also picking up key utility talents such as Improved Blessing of Wisdom, Improved Blessing of Might, and Blessing of Kings. The Holy tree itself offers very little flexibility—skipping core talents results in a severe loss of healing performance. As a result, Holy Paladin builds are far more rigid than other healer specializations.

Holy Paladin PvE Talent Build

Core Healing Talents

These talents are required in every Holy Paladin build and form the foundation of your healing kit: • Spiritual Focus — Prevents spell pushback, allowing reliable casting while taking damage. • Healing Light — Increases the power of Holy Light and Flash of Light. • Illumination — Returns Mana on critical heals, forming the backbone of Holy Paladin efficiency. • Holy Guidance — Converts Intellect into Spell Power, enabling exceptional gear scaling. Together, these talents allow Holy Paladins to maintain high single-target throughput for extended encounters without running out of Mana.

Optional Talent Points

There are three flexible talent points in this build, commonly placed into Purifying Power and Blessed Life. These points can be reassigned depending on encounter mechanics or personal preference. Popular alternatives include: • Unyielding Faith — Increases resistance to fears and disorients. • Pure of Heart — Provides resistance to curses and diseases. • Improved Seal of the Crusader — Useful if no other Paladin is providing the debuff. None of these options significantly affect healing throughput, so choose based on survivability or raid utility needs.
