Holy Paladin (PVP)
An elite single-target healer that keeps tanks alive through efficient, high-throughput healing and invaluable raid blessings.
Overview
Holy Paladins serve as defensive, single-target healers in PvP, focusing on keeping teammates alive through powerful casts, strong utility, and excellent survivability. While they lack the instant healing and mobility of other healers, disciplined play, fake casting, and intelligent cooldown usage allow Holy Paladins to remain effective—especially in Battlegrounds and select Arena compositions. Holy Paladins excel at empowering melee teammates, cleansing crowd control, and surviving focused pressure thanks to plate armor and defensive blessings. Success in PvP hinges on positioning, anticipation, and mastery of their utility toolkit rather than raw throughput or mobility.
Strengths
Exceptional Single-Target Healing
Holy Light delivers some of the strongest single-target healing in PvP. When uninterrupted, Holy Paladins can outheal focused damage better than any other healer.
High Survivability
As the only plate-wearing healer, Holy Paladins are naturally resilient against physical damage, making them difficult to kill in melee-heavy matchups.
Powerful Utility Toolkit
Blessing of Freedom, Blessing of Protection, Blessing of Sacrifice, Cleanse, and Hammer of Justice allow Holy Paladins to enable teammates and disrupt enemy pressure.
Strong Anti-CC Play
Blessing of Sacrifice and Judgement of Blood can break or prevent crowd-control chains, while fake casting helps bait interrupts.
Durable Battleground Healer
In large-scale PvP, the chaos of Battlegrounds favors Holy Paladins, where their durability, buffs, and dispels can decisively swing fights.
Weaknesses
Reliance on Hard Casts
Outside of Holy Shock, all healing spells require casting, making Holy Paladins extremely vulnerable to interrupts and silences.
Limited Mobility
Holy Paladins lack movement abilities or speed boosts, making them easy to contain and pressure in Arena environments.
Weak Arena Viability
Compared to other healers, Holy Paladins struggle in Arenas due to poor mobility, limited instant healing, and susceptibility to coordinated crowd control.
Mana Sustainability Issues
Long matches can be problematic due to limited in-combat mana regeneration and difficulty finding opportunities to drink.
Low Offensive Pressure
Holy Paladins contribute minimal offensive threat, relying almost entirely on teammates to apply pressure and secure kills.
