Aldor vs Scryer
When you first reach Shattrath City at level 60 or higher, you are given a choice between two factions: The Aldor and the Scryers. This decision affects which rewards you can purchase, which quest lines you can pursue, and which faction strongholds you can access in Shadowmoon Valley. While it is possible to switch later, it is best to avoid making a haphazard choice. For Discipline Priests in PvP, the difference between Aldor and Scryer is small and will not make or break your performance. Nearly all faction gear is irrelevant in PvP, leaving shoulder enchants as the only meaningful distinction.

Faction gear does not matter in PvP
Weapons, trinkets, and rings from Aldor or Scryer are PvE-oriented and do not meaningfully affect Discipline PvP performance.
Shoulder enchants are the main factor
The shoulder enchant is the only faction reward that consistently impacts Discipline Priest PvP.
Consistency beats crit
PvP healing favors predictable throughput over random critical heals.
Switching is optional
If you already chose a faction, there is no strong reason to switch for PvP alone.

We recommend choosing Aldor as a Discipline Priest for PvP in TBC Classic. - Greater Inscription of Faith provides more raw healing power than Greater Inscription of the Oracle. - Spell Power offers more consistent value than Critical Strike for PvP healing. The difference is small, and Discipline Priests will perform well regardless of faction choice, but Aldor is the better option for min-maxing.
