Enhancement Shaman (PVP)
Melee DPS with Windfury synergy and burst-heavy gameplay.
Aldor vs Scryer
When you first reach Shattrath City at level 60 or higher, you are given a choice between two factions: The Aldor and the Scryers. This decision affects which rewards you can purchase, which quest lines you can pursue, and which faction strongholds you can access in Shadowmoon Valley. While it is possible to switch later, it is best to avoid making a haphazard choice. For Enhancement Shamans in PvP, the choice between Aldor and Scryer has very little impact. Nearly all faction gear rewards are PvE-oriented and do not meaningfully affect PvP performance, leaving shoulder enchants as the only real distinction.
Before you choose
Here are the only things you need to know before picking a side.
Faction gear does not matter in PvP
Weapons, trinkets, and armor from Aldor or Scryer are designed for PvE and have little to no impact in PvP.
Enchant difference is tiny
The difference between Aldor and Scryer shoulder enchants is very small and will not decide PvP outcomes.
Consistency over theory
Enhancement PvP revolves around uptime, pressure, and cooldown usage rather than small stat optimizations.
Cost can be the tiebreaker
Because the performance gap is minimal, choosing the cheaper reputation path is often the most practical decision.
Aldor vs Scryer
Side-by-side comparison of early highlights, pros, and cons.
Neither choice is permanent, but your early gearing experience can feel very different depending on which faction you choose
- Greater Inscription of Vengeance is very slightly stronger than the Scryer alternative
- Provides a small but consistent damage increase in PvP
- Works well for Enhancement’s pressure-based PvP playstyle
- The advantage over Scryer is extremely small and difficult to notice in practice
- Aldor reputation materials are often more expensive due to higher demand
- Greater Inscription of the Blade is very close in value to the Aldor enchant
- Scryer reputation turn-ins are often cheaper due to lower faction popularity
- Provides slightly less overall value for PvP compared to Aldor
- PvE-oriented faction rewards do not meaningfully impact PvP performance
Recommendation for Enhancement Shaman PvP
We recommend choosing Aldor as an Enhancement Shaman for PvP in TBC Classic. - Greater Inscription of Vengeance is very slightly stronger than Greater Inscription of the Blade. - The shoulder enchant is the only faction reward that meaningfully affects PvP. The difference is extremely small, and Enhancement Shamans will perform well in PvP regardless of faction choice.
