Restoration Shaman (PVP)
Totem-based healer with strong group healing and cooldowns.
Gear & Stats
This gear setup is recommended for World PvP, Battlegrounds, and Arenas. Restoration Shamans are frequent focus targets, making survivability and mana longevity far more important than raw healing throughput. Your goal is to stay alive long enough to keep Bloodlust active, maintain Earth Shield uptime, and disrupt enemy setups with Purge, Grounding Totem, and Earth Shock.

Stat Priority
Resilience
Resilience is the most important PvP stat for Restoration Shamans. It reduces incoming burst damage, damage over time effects, and the impact of Mana Burn. Because healers are often the primary kill target, stacking Resilience is critical to surviving melee trains and coordinated burst.
Mana Per 5 (MP5)
MP5 is the most valuable mana regeneration stat in PvP. You cannot reliably drink in Arena, and prolonged fights will quickly drain your mana pool. High MP5 allows you to sustain healing and utility throughout extended matches.
Stamina
Stamina increases your health pool and provides a buffer against sudden burst damage. A good benchmark is aiming for roughly 10,000 or more unbuffed health in PvP gear.
Healing Power
Healing Power increases your raw healing throughput. While important, it is secondary to survivability and mana sustain. Dead healers provide zero healing.
Intellect
Intellect increases your total mana pool and provides a small amount of spell critical strike chance. It is useful for longer games, but generally less efficient than MP5 for sustained regeneration.
Spell Hit
You only need 3 percent Spell Hit in PvP to reliably land Purge and Earth Shock. If you are using Nature’s Guidance, you may need little to no Spell Hit from gear. Avoid exceeding this cap, as extra Spell Hit provides no value.
Using PvE Gear in PvP
While PvP gear forms the core of your setup, select PvE pieces can be used to increase throughput once you are comfortable with your survivability. Items such as Scarab of the Infinite Cycle and strong PvE weapons or shields provide additional healing and mana regeneration without severely compromising durability. Be cautious when adding PvE items: always prioritize Resilience and survivability first, and only mix in PvE pieces once you are confident you can withstand being focused.
