Restoration Druid (PVP)
Mobile healer focused on heal-over-time effects and strong PvP presence.
Aldor vs Scryer
When you first reach Shattrath City at level 60 or higher, you are given a choice between two factions: The Aldor and the Scryers. This decision affects which rewards you can purchase, which quest lines you can pursue, and which faction strongholds you can access in Shadowmoon Valley. While it is possible to switch later, it is best to avoid making a haphazard choice. For Restoration Druids in PvP, the difference between Aldor and Scryer is small. Nearly all faction gear rewards are PvE-oriented and do not meaningfully affect PvP performance, leaving shoulder enchants as the primary consideration.
Before you choose
Here are the only things you need to know before picking a side.
Faction gear does not matter in PvP
Weapons and gear from Aldor or Scryer are PvE-focused and do not meaningfully impact Restoration Druid PvP.
Shoulder enchants are the deciding factor
The shoulder enchant is the only faction reward that consistently affects PvP healing performance.
Consistency over efficiency
PvP healing favors predictable, sustained throughput over minor mana efficiency gains.
Switching is optional
If you already chose a faction, there is no compelling reason to switch solely for PvP.
Aldor vs Scryer
Side-by-side comparison of early highlights, pros, and cons.
Neither choice is permanent, but your early gearing experience can feel very different depending on which faction you choose
- Greater Inscription of Faith provides more raw healing power than the Scryer alternative
- Spell Power offers reliable value for HoTs and direct heals in PvP
- Improves sustained healing during extended arena and battleground fights
- Provides no additional PvP-specific rewards beyond the shoulder enchant
- Greater Inscription of the Oracle provides additional mana per 5
- Can feel slightly better in very long, mana-intensive PvP matches
- Provides less overall healing throughput than the Aldor enchant
- Mana efficiency is generally less valuable than raw healing in PvP
Recommendation for Restoration Druid PvP
We recommend choosing Aldor as a Restoration Druid for PvP in TBC Classic. - Greater Inscription of Faith provides more raw healing than Greater Inscription of the Oracle. - Consistent healing throughput is more valuable than mana efficiency in PvP. The difference is small, and Restoration Druids will perform well regardless of faction choice, but Aldor is the better option for min-maxing PvP healing.
