Elemental Shaman (PVP)
Ranged caster DPS with strong burst and raid utility.
Talents
This is the standard Elemental PvP talent build for The Burning Crusade. It balances high burst damage with critical defensive and utility talents needed to survive in Arena and Battleground environments. The build prioritizes Elemental throughput while dipping into Restoration for Nature’s Swiftness, allowing for instant emergency healing or clutch offensive plays. Defensive talents such as Eye of the Storm and Elemental Shields are mandatory in PvP, helping mitigate pushback and pressure while casting.
Build Philosophy
Elemental PvP is defined by short, explosive damage windows combined with heavy control and disruption. This build is designed to capitalize on those moments while giving you just enough defensive tools to survive long enough to cast. Because talent points are extremely tight, there are no radically different viable PvP builds. Success comes from mastering positioning, shock usage, Grounding Totem timing, and coordinating burst with your team rather than from frequent talent swaps.
Elemental Shaman PvP — 40/0/21
This build focuses on maximizing burst damage while retaining essential PvP survivability tools. • Eye of the Storm provides full pushback immunity while taking damage, which is critical when casting under pressure. • Elemental Shields significantly reduces damage taken while Lightning Shield is active. • Nature’s Swiftness enables instant Healing Wave or Chain Lightning plays, often deciding matches. Talent Flexibility: • Nature’s Guidance is only required if you need to reach the 3% Spell Hit PvP cap. Once capped, points can be moved into Healing Focus. • Focused Mind can be taken instead of maximizing Lightning Overload if you prefer more consistent casting over burst. Totem of Wrath is intentionally skipped due to its low impact in PvP. This build is tight on points, so most changes are minor preference adjustments rather than full alternatives.
