Enhancement Shaman (PVE)

Melee DPS with Windfury synergy and burst-heavy gameplay.

DPSPVE

Talents

Enhancement Shamans invest deeply into their own tree for Dual Wield, Stormstrike, and Shamanistic Rage, then branch into either Elemental or Restoration depending on whether they prioritize damage output or long-term totem twisting efficiency. Both builds are fully viable in PvE and are chosen based on group composition and personal preference.

Which Build Should You Run?

Elemental Sub-Spec — More Damage, Easier Flow

Best when you want higher personal DPS and a smoother offensive rotation. Elemental talents improve Fire Totems for AoE pulls and make shock usage fit naturally into your Stormstrike + twisting cadence.

Restoration Sub-Spec — More Twisting Longevity

Best when you’re twisting consistently in longer fights and want Mana stability. Totemic Focus reduces twisting costs, Totemic Mastery extends totem range, and Nature’s Guidance helps you reach Hit needs with less gearing pressure.

Enhancement Shaman (PvE) — Elemental Sub-Spec

This build focuses on maximizing personal DPS while maintaining smooth rotational flow when totem twisting. • Reverberation allows shocks to line up cleanly with Stormstrike and twisting windows. • Call of Flame and Improved Fire Totems significantly boost Magma Totem and Fire Nova Totem damage, making this build stronger in AoE situations. • Convection and Elemental Focus improve Mana efficiency without sacrificing throughput. Tradeoff: This build does NOT pick up Nature’s Guidance, so you must make up the missing Hit through gear or gems.

Enhancement Shaman (PvE) — Restoration Sub-Spec

This build sacrifices some personal damage to greatly improve Mana longevity and totem uptime in long fights. • Totemic Focus reduces Mana cost of totems, making sustained twisting far more manageable. • Totemic Mastery increases totem range, improving group coverage and reducing repositioning issues. • Nature’s Guidance provides free Hit, easing gearing requirements. Tradeoff: Lower AoE damage compared to the Elemental sub-spec due to giving up Fire Totem amplification talents.

Talent Flexibility

Talent points are tight, but a few small swaps are possible: • You can move 2 points out of Improved Reincarnation into Concussion for a minor DPS increase. • If your group values melee support over AoE damage, you can shift points from Fire Totem talents into Improved Weapon Totems in the Elemental sub-spec. Outside of these tweaks, most points are considered mandatory for optimal Enhancement performance.
