Demonology Warlock (PVE)
A demon-focused spec that delivers consistent damage through powerful pets and strong survivability.
Gear & Stats
Demonology gearing follows the same core Warlock priorities: reach spell hit cap first, then stack haste and spell power to scale your damage (and your Felguard) efficiently. Because your pet benefits from your stats, Demonology scales very well as your gear improves.

Stat Priority
Priority Order
Spell Hit (until capped) > Spell Haste > Spell Power > Spell Crit > Intellect > Stamina > Spirit
TBC Uses Rating (Not %)
In TBC, Hit and Crit are primarily gained through rating rather than % effects. This makes gearing and caps more precise, and many older Classic-style % bonuses convert into rating values.
Spell Power Equivalency Values (T4/T5)
How to Use Equivalency Values
After reaching hit cap, use equivalency values to compare gear efficiently. These values vary by specialization and gear level, but they provide a strong baseline for making smart upgrades without relying only on raw item level.
Felguard Build Assumptions
These values assume a typical raid setup with multiple Demonology Warlocks and one Affliction Warlock not in the caster group (T4/T5 environment).
Felguard Build Weights
Stat Weights (Spell Power Equivalency)
1 Spell Power = 0.784 DPS 1 Hit Rating = 1.596 Spell Power (until cap) 1 Haste Rating = 1.362 Spell Power 1 Crit Rating = 0.596 Spell Power 1 Intellect = 0.220 Spell Power 1 Stamina = 0.058 Spell Power 1 Spirit = 0.094 Spell Power (only with IDS; otherwise ~0)
Gearing Notes
Hit Cap Still Comes First
Spell Hit is the most efficient DPS gain until capped. Once capped, additional hit has little to no value, so plan a couple of flexible pieces to adjust for buffs and encounter types.
Haste Beats Crit on Average
Haste tends to outperform crit on a 1-to-1 rating basis in most T4/T5 setups, making it your best scaling stat once hit needs are satisfied.
